Kennett Area Community Service - Emergency Assistance Program

The Emergency Assistance Program program offers the following services for those currently living in our service area:
•financial assistance for rent, utility bills, and other basic living expenses
•housing assistance to those who are experiencing homelessness

•connecting those in need with a partner agency that will best assist them

Eligibility: Program income limits vary due to funding. Some programs go up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline, others up to 80% AMI. Serves people living in the Avon Grove School District, Unionville Chadds Ford School District, and Kennett Consolidated School District. Some services are available to our neighbors in Oxford School District if the household is facing eviction or is currently experiencing homelessness
Hours: Due to COVID-19 all Emergency Assistance services are available by appointment. Please call 610-925-3556 and leave a message.

Intake Requirements: Proof of income for the last 4 weeks for all household members, identification for all households members, proof of emergency, utility bill if requesting utility assistance, completed KACS landlord form and lease if requesting rental assistance.
Intake Procedure: Call 610-925-3556 to schedule a phone intake appointment.
Helpful Tips: Southern Chester County includes Kennett Consolidated School District, Avon Grove School District, and Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.

Emergency Assistance is also available in Oxford Area School District if the household has an eviction notice or is experiencing homelessness.

Facility/ADA access: Face-to-face meetings are often occurring outside due to COVID-19.

Public Transportation: The SCCOOT bus stops at the corner of Cedar and Center Streets in Kennett Square, less than one block from the KACS office.
