Lancaster County Project for the Needy
Lancaster County Project for the Needy - Christmas Food Basket
Formed in 1986, this all volunteer group raises money and collects food to distribute to needy families. The food is given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Groceries given to each individual or family are equivalent to two grocery bags and include items such as a 10-12 pound turkey, eggs, milk, bread, potatoes, frozen vegetables and fruit. Monetary donations are welcome and are used to defray the costs of purchasing the groceries. The cost to feed one family is generally about $15.00. Donations should be sent to the Project and should be marked: Lancaster County Project for the Needy 5813 Wild Lilac Drive East Petersburg, PA 17520 Volunteers wishing to help package and distribute the food should come to the Clipper Stadium at 5:00am
