Lawrence County C.A.R.E.S. Center - Mental Health Crisis Line
Lawrence County C.A.R.E.S. Center is a behavioral health consumer and family support and resource center that serves the residents of Lawrence County. Services cover aspects of life from the basic needs in life to social, economical, educational, and supportive assistance.
  • The Next Step: A Drop-In Center is a central place for self-help, advocacy, education, and socialization. The Next Step Center provides an opportunity for socializing and networking that addresses the isolation felt by many, especially those in mental health recovery. The Next Step increases knowledge in community resources and allows individuals to learn from each other. We also provide recreational opportunities such as a pool table, video game systems, movie room, an indoor basketball court, and workout equipment. Please contact a Next Step Associate with any questions by pressing 2 when you call in.
  • The Lawrence County Client Satisfaction Team (CST) consists of consumers, parents, family members and persons in recovery. Our members regularly visit consumers of mental health and/or substance abuse services. We ask that they complete an anonymous survey regarding the services they receive. This information is gathered to ensure quality services are available to consumers in Lawrence County. We report our findings to the Lawrence County Mental Health/Disability Services Office, Value Behavioral Health, and the providers. Please contact Vickie at extension 105 regarding any CST questions.
  • Social Security's Representative Payee Program provides financial management for the Social Security and SSI payments of our beneficiaries who are struggling to manage their payments. Our Rep Payee works with her clients to ensure their needs are met as far as housing, utilities, personal care items, groceries, etc. This is done via careful budgeting each month to ensure financial needs are met. Please contact Tina at extension 113 regarding any Rep Payee Program questions.
