100 Black Men of America - Mentoring
Services include: MEAP Program The program meets once a month on Saturdays. The objective is to educate our young people about becoming a developer if they chose this option as a career, including facets of houses construction and creating a business plan. Chess Program The program meets weekly on Saturday from 10am – 1pm. The objective is designed to assist youth in making choices that are more thoughtful and productive. Chess is used as a vehicle to improve critical thinking and planning skills and strengthen the positive mindsets of youth. Golf Program The program meets Saturdays from 10am – 1pm @ 2000 Paterson Avenue (subject to weather). The objective is to offer our youth the ability to not only learn how to play golf, but also to understand the importance of being neat, staying in good physical shape, learning how to deal with life’s pressures, and competing in a respectful and professional manner, among other lessons. Tennis Program The program is held @ the Arthur Ashe Center, 4248 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, from 11am -1pm. The objective is to offer our youth a high-intensity game that helps develop their physical condition, sportsmanship, focus and mental toughness. Stairway to Manhood program The program meets Bi-weekly on Saturdays @ Honickman Center, 1600 Judson Street, Philadelphia. The objective is to educate our young people on how to take care of themselves and maintain a positive attitude. It teaches them grooming and educates our young men about becoming of age. Big Brothers & Big Sisters program Mentors young people under the banner of that organization.
