Mental Health America of Lancaster County
Compeer Lancaster
**NOTES** Click here for Coronavirus Information Matches volunteers in one-to-one relationships with adults who are recovering from mental illness. Their friendship provides structured opportunities for socialization which decreases loneliness and increases well being and confidence in the clients. Some opportunities include meeting for coffee, visiting local museums, going out to eat and taking walks together. Volunteers commit to four hour a month for one year. Other volunteer opportunities include making a 15 minute phone call each week to an individual waiting for one-to-one friend. Free training and ongoing support is provided. Within the same program, CompeerCORPS Vet2Vet matches military veterans with a veteran volunteer. Volunteer opportunities available.
