Mercer County Children and Youth Services (MCCYS) is a State supervised, County administered agency, responsible for the assessment and investigation of allegations of child abuse and neglect. MCCYS conducts general protective service assessments and child protective service investigations when allegations of child abuse/neglect are reported to the agency or to ChildLine, and when the abuse is alleged to have occurred in Mercer County. MCCYS focuses on family strengths to provide quality services in order to protect children and provide them with permanency, safety, and well-being. Mercer County Children and Youth Services offers guidance to the community on what constitutes child abuse/neglect and how cultural and socio-economic factors impact children and families. MCCYS provides Independent Living services to transitional age youth, age 14-21. MCCYS provides out of home placement services for children and youth, including foster care.
