Arc of Chester County - Recreation Program
Recreation program formally known as community habilitation helps people with disabilities have fun and be involved in the community while improving social skills. Our fun activities include: overnight, weekend or week-long excursions to places like mountain resorts, the seashore, campgrounds or theme parks, day-trips to nearby cities, fairs and festivals and tourist attractions, group outings to sporting events, movies, concerts, or dinner theaters, outdoor experiences like camping, boating, hiking, ball games, swimming or miniature golf, and weekly and monthly activity nights at The Arc, including games, dinners, crafts, and theme parties. The Arc of Chester County's Camp Safari is a special place for children between age four to 11 to experience outdoor activities regardless of physical challenges. Teen Camp is open to teens age 12 to 18. Both camps offer: new experiences and fun with peers, activities including fishing, canoeing, swimming, sports, crafts, and nature study, and respite for family members and caregivers. Each camper has a one-on-one teen volunteer supporter in addition to trained camp staff.
