Neighborhood Legal Services Association - Lawrence
Provides free civil legal services to low income individuals and families without the means to hire a private attorney. Provides representation to survivors of domestic violence in Protection from Abuse (PFA) proceedings. May provide direct representation, advice, assistance in self-representation, brief service, limited legal assistance or referral to a private attorney (including free and reduced-fee), depending on case. Provides community education on legal topics.

While NLSA does not provide assistance with Veterans' Benefits, they can provide legal assistance to eligible veterans who are having problems with their housing, utilities, or other issues within NLSA's priorities.

Eligibility: Income based: Gross income for most services must be at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level. No income guidelines for those seeking Protection from abuse, and there are varying guidelines for some services depending upon availability of grant funds.
