NHM, New Oxford, Workforce Development and Adult Education
Many different workforce development and class options to choose from. NHM Centers will pre-screen and check pre-requisites for class opportunities in nursing aide, trucking and forklift. CLASSES OFFERED (detailed schedules on our website and at each NMH Center):
  • Cooking Class
    • Dollars & Sense basic money management class
    • GED classes held at our Hanover and Mechanicsburg Centers in the Spring and Fall
    • Job Junction: One-on-one help with resume building, cover letters, interview skills and job searches. This by appointment only.
    • Job Fairs (held at our Hanover and Mechanicsburg centers)
    • Technical Training with forklift (Mechanicsburg) and
    • Technical Training for welding (done at an off-site location in Hanover).
    • Nurses Aide Program
    • CDL Class A Drivers' License Class (off-site location in York)
    • Basic Computer Class (Mechanicsburg when there is enough interest)

  • Must have a New Oxford address: New Oxford, East Berlin, Abbottstown, Conewago Valley School District.
    • Household Income Under 200% Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPIG). For 2019: 1 person household making under $24,980 2 person household making under $33,820 3 person household making under $42,660 4 person household making under $51,500 5 person household making under $60,340 6 person household making under $69,180 7 person household making under $78,020
  • Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 1:00pm and Tuesday Evening for food pantry

    Intake Requirements: ID, proof of address and Monthly Income Documentation
    Intake Procedure: Call to schedule appointment to register for classes. Also, please, see our website for more information. Note: Some classes do require pre-screening.
