PATH, Inc. CMH/MRC - Philadelphia; Northeast Philadelphia
PATH (People Acting To Help) - Medical Department - Adult
You will meet privately with a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in helping individuals with mental health problems. You will discuss, with your psychiatrist, your concerns and review the difficulties you are experiencing. You will receive a comprehensive evaluation to determine if medications could help to alleviate some of the symptoms you are experiencing. If medication is recommended, you are free to accept or decline the psychiatrist’s recommendation. If you decide to take medications, the psychiatrist becomes a member of your treatment team and will meet with you on a regular basis to monitor your progress and facilitate your recovery. You may also meet with a nurse who will work closely with the psychiatrist to monitor your progress. You will continue to receive other PATH services that are recommended by your treatment team.
