Helps low-income citizens with a variety of civil legal problems, especially those of an emergency nature. Works with clients to improve their ability to be self-sufficient through obtaining and/or enforcing their right to necessary economic, employment, housing, medical and other public resources. Legal services include family law, consumer law, housing, Protection From Abuse, public benefits and unemployment compensation, and mortgage foreclosure avoidance.
