PA’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness
A Liaison is provided for families that are experiencing a lack of permanent housing and who would like their children to remain in their school district/preschool of origin; or are experiencing difficulties in enrolling their children in the school district where they are temporarily staying.

Eligibility: The family is experiencing a lack of permanent residence due to an event that occurred where they were forced out of their permanent residence.

Intake Procedure: No formal intake procedure is required.
Intake Requirements: Families must simply inform the preschool or district that they are experiencing housing issues and would like to meet with the school district liaison. Every school district has an appointed Homeless School Liaison.
Fee Amounts: No fees
Geographical Area: Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, and Schuylkill Counties.
Helpful Tips: Should families be denied this service, they should contact the Regional Coordinator immediately and the coordinator will facilitate dialogue with the school district.
