United Way of Erie County - Erie FREE Taxes
Provides Erie County tax filers benefit by having their tax returns prepared for free by trained tax preparers certified by the Internal Revenue Service. Over 20 free tax preparation sites are operational from the end of January through mid-April during tax filing season.

Eligibility: Income is less than $57,000, you may be eligible for free tax preparation services. Volunteer tax preparers complete federal, state, and local tax returns.
Hours: January 25, 2021: Tax site locations begin to open.

Intake Requirements: Picture ID for each tax filer - acceptable ID types: valid driver’s license, employer ID, state-issued photo ID, military-issued photo ID, federal government photo ID, U.S. passport, visa, school photo ID; Social Security card for everyone listed on your tax return; Form 1095-A if you purchased health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace; Birth dates for everyone listed on the tax return; All income statements; All records of expenses such as mortgage interest, tuition, real estate taxes; A copy of last year’s federal and state tax returns if available; A voided or blank check to verify bank routing and account numbers for Direct Deposit; Total paid for daycare provider and daycare provider’s name, address, employer
