Wesley Family Services - Ways to Work
Transportation loan program that provides small loans to pay for a car purchase or repair that is necessary to keep a job or stay in school. Loans are for low-income, employed individuals who cannot get a loan elsewhere and are able to pay a monthly loan payment. Low-interest loans in amounts of up to $8,000 are available for the purchase of a pre-owned car, or up to $1,000 to repair a vehicle already owned by the applicant. Accepts donated vehicles to be sold at auction or repaired and sold to clients. Donors may receive tax deductions equal to the sale price of the donated car.

Eligibility: Must meet income eligibility guidelines, and: Be employed for three months or more and work at least twenty (20) hours per week; Be able to afford monthly payments.

Fee Amounts: No charge to applicant. Applicants who receive a loan must make monthly loan payments.

Helpful Tips: To donate a car to the Ways to Work and Community Auto programs, you must have the title for the vehicle. Cars are available at below-market value from Community Auto and can be purchased using Ways to Work loans.
