Westmoreland County Children's Bureau - In Home Services
Offers in-home supportive services to families throughout Westmoreland County. After the agency’s Assessment Division has made a determination that a family is in need of services, the family is automatically referred to the Ongoing Services division of the agency.

Eligibility: The child must reside in a home of origin within Westmoreland County (exceptions for courtesy interviews, interstate compacts, and other specific circumstances). Children must be between the ages of 0-18 for in-home services. If the children access Independent Living services, the case may remain open until the child reaches 21 years of age.

Intake Requirements: The referral must allege child abuse or neglect (including status offenses). The agency may also accept cases as a courtesy to other counties or through the interstate compact process.
Intake Procedure: Referrals will be evaluated by Childline and/or a Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau supervisor. If the referral is marked as suspected abuse and/or the concerns rise to specified levels, the supervisor will assign a caseworker to investigate the referral.

Helpful Tips: The public can report suspected child abuse to Childline at 1-800-932-0313. Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau can also accept referrals at 724-830-3301. After hours, the public should contact 911 and they will be referred to an on-call caseworker.
Languages Spoken: English is the primary language utilized, yet the agency can access speakers and/or translators of other languages as needed.
