Mercer County Housing Authority - Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) has funds available for those whose housing is in jeopardy due to income loss due to COVID-19.

ERAP is for the benefit of current tenants and landlords in Mercer County. The focus of the program is to assist with housing stability and to address arrearages for rental and utility payments, a well as possible short-term future rent.

The Federal moratorium on evictions for non-payment of rent has been extended to June 30th. The lead agency managing the program is Mercer County Housing Authority in partnership with the Shenango Valley Urban League and Community Action Partnership of Mercer County.

Eligibility: Only current tenants and landlords of properties in Mercer County are eligible to apply for grants.

Please note that landlords of evicted tenants are not permitted to apply for payment.

Eligibility is is subject to applicable income requirements. View the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services breakdown of income eligibility limits by clicking here.

Tenants must be able to demonstrate that they were unemployed, had hours reduced, or lost income after March 13, 2020. Some applicants will be required to complete Case Management.

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesday and Friday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00pm

Renter Documents to submit:
NOTE: Missing documents could be cause for DENYING your application.
* Complete the Lessee Household Certification/Tenant Application
* W-2s for 2020, March 13, 2020 until the day of application for all members age 18 and over.
* Proof of Unemployment - Letter from Unemployment Office or your employer if hours were reduced.
* Social Security, SSI, Child Support, VA benefits or any other income.

Landlord Documents to submit:
NOTE: Missing documents could be cause for DENYING your application.
* Complete the Landlord Application and W-9.
* Complete the Landlord Property Certification.
* Copy of Lease agreement, signed by both the tenant and landlord, to verify rent and terms of agreement.
* Please note: The amount on the Lease and Monthly Request Amount MUST match.
* Proof of property ownership. i.e., Deed, mortgage note, tax receipt.
