Allegheny Link - Expectant/New Parent Home Visiting
Referrals to services that provide trained professionals or volunteers visit the homes of eligible mothers during pregnancy and early childhood.

The visits encourage the mothers to maintain good nutrition and provide information regarding danger signs in pregnancy, preparation for labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and other feeding options, baby supplies, basic infant care, newborn behaviors and child development.



Your home visitor
  • will contact you set up a visit at a time that works for you
  • will talk with you to learn: more about you and your young child(ren), what needs you have, what your strengths are, what resources would be helpful
  • will help you get connected to helpful resources
  • will share ideas to encourage your child's healthy development


  • Home visiting
  • is not part of the child welfare system (CYF)
  • connects you with services that often have no income restrictions
  • is voluntary
  • is a free service

    Eligibility:
    You are eligible if:
    you are pregnant
    AND/OR
    you are a caregiver of a child six years old or younger
    AND
    you are a resident of Allegheny County
    AND
    you are interested in receiving services
    Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 7:00pm

    In person meetings at the Human Services Building, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm
