Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly - Philadelphia; Center City
Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly - Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)
This statewide program raises awareness of healthcare fraud and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs. About 75 retired professional volunteers, recruited and trained by CARIE, educate their peers about healthcare fraud, how to report it, and how to self-advocate in a complex healthcare system. Staff take calls from those suspecting fraud and assist in making complaints with the proper agency and/or help resolve problems.
