Adult Literacy Program
The Adult Literacy Program (ALP), operates out of the Kennett Library.

The program provides English as a Second Language (ESL)and adult literacy instruction in day classes, evening classes, and via technology. A unique component is the one-to-one volunteer tutoring. Tutors provide ESL help as well as preparation for testing for American citizenship and General Equivalency Diploma. Please call the ALP office to request a tutor's help, or to become a volunteer tutor.

Fee Amounts: No Fee
Wait List: Space is available to those wishing to join classes in progress--generally from September to June. Those adults wishing for a tutor must apply by calling (610-444-9118) or emailing the director ( and be put on a wait list for a tutor.
