CASSD, The Lehman Center - Crisis Nursery
  • 1 to 72-hour short-term respite care for children ages: birth through six years old.
    • Temporary day respite care (pre-scheduled or emergency basis).
    • 24-hour hotline for families in crisis.
    • Prevention of child abuse and neglect as well as to provide a safe and nurturing environment to children and their families through respite, support, education, and counseling services.

    Eligibility: Crisis nursery - temporary voluntary respite for children ages 0 months to 6 years old whose families are under stress or in crisis.

    Intake Procedure: Intakes scheduled by phone. Self-referrals accepted. Parents or guardians bring children to crisis nursery to complete intake paperwork and health screening for children. Art therapy intake session for each new client upon receipt of initial call. Self-referrals accepted.
    Fee Amounts: No fee for crisis nursery. Sliding scale and medical assistance for those who qualify for art therapy. No fee for parent support groups.
