City police that is responsible for enforcing all laws and ordinances.

Community Policing and Crime Prevention: Occurs within 12 districts of the City of Lancaster. Community police officers will act as a liaison between community leaders and police and work to solve problems specific to their neighborhoods.

Services beyond those of normal enforcement procedures include:
- Participation in school workshops
- Community resource programs
- Safety programs for students
- Counseling, upon request, for students considered at risk for legal involvement

Animal Law Enforcement: City Dog Law Enforcement Officer picks up stray dogs and other animals, enforces city animal control regulations and investigates incidents involving animal bites.

Issues temporary no parking signs.

Issuing business licenses: For pawnbrokers, antique or second-hand dealers, junk dealers or recycling centers, vendors or peddlers and transient merchants
