Clearfield County Victim Witness Program
Provides information and assistance to victims and witnesses of crime. Offers specialized services to families of homicide by vehicle and murder victim families, including a support group. Victim's Compensation Program: for victuims of a personal injury crime. It can help pay doctor bills, hospital bills, lost earnings, costs of wheelchairs and mileage to doctor's appointments. In homicide cases where the victim had no insurance, it can help pay for the funeral. People may be eligible for compensation even if an arrest is not made; they must have filed a police report. Services: --Assistance with restitution --Supplying information on case status --Crisis counseling --Accompaniment to court proceedings --Courtroom orientation --Employer/creditor intervention --State and local correctional institutional facility release notification --Criminal justice support and advocacy --Assistance with property returns
