The Recorder of Deeds does the following:
- records all deeds, mortgages, leases and other miscellaneous real estate documents
- collects local and state real estate transfer taxes, affordable housing fees, judicial fees and writ taxes
- records all Notary Public commissions, renewals and changes and also swears in all Notary Publics.
- records all real estate related UCC liens.
- records all subdivisions, land development and highway plans
- records all commissions and bonds for county officials
