Dauphin County Veterans Affairs - General Assistance
Might be able to offer a onetime benefit payment (up to a max of $1,600).

Educate veterans and their family members on the full range of Federal, State, and County veteran's benefits. Assist veterans and their family members in processing forms and supporting documentation to obtain benefits. Provide outreach services to nursing homes where veterans reside. Coordinate with area funeral directors to ensure burial benefits.

VETERANS' EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - Provides financial aid in an emergency and temporary basis (not to exceed three (3) months in 12 month period) to war-time veterans who reside in Pennsylvania for the necessities of life (food, dairy, shelter, fuel and clothing).

In addition, the Veterans' Affairs Office coordinates special honors and ceremonies to commemorate veterans (Honor guard for private cemeteries).
