Dollar Energy Fund - Utility Payment Assistance
The $1 Energy Fund Grant Program assists utility customers who meet income and payment eligibility guidelines with a $100-$500 grant applied directly to their utility bill. Program Dates:

October 1 - November 29: open for services that are off or threat of termination only.
December 2 - March 31: open for services that are off only.
February 3 - February 28: open for services that are off or in threat of termination.

To apply for Dollar Energy funds, the account holder must live in the home. The grant covers residential, single home or apartment service. "Cooking only", commercial, industrial or apartments with shared utility service are not eligible. Applicants can only receive one grant per utility, per program year (October 1st through September 28).
Eligibility: If applicants are eligible and programs are open, applicants must apply for LIHEAP and CRISIS before applying for the Dollar Energy Fund Hardship Program. Gross monthly household income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Income Calculator. Applicants must have an outstanding balance on their utility bill of at least $100. Seniors (age 62+) may have a $0 balance as long as there is no existing credit on the account.Proof of Sincere Effort of Payment: Gas and electric: Applicants must have paid at least $150 on their account in the past 90 days; senior citizens (age 62 and over) must have paid $100 on their accounts. Water and sewer: Applicants must have paid at least $100 on their account in the last 90 days; senior citizens (age 62 and over) must have paid at least $50.
