Coatesville Office (Domestic Violence Center of Chester County)
Domestic Violence Center of Chester County - Children's Services - Coatesville
Provides individual and group counseling, along with recreational activities. Advocacy services for children living in the Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, or in the community are designed to ease their transition after leaving a home with violence and help reduce the effects of trauma resulting from witnessing or experiencing domestic violence. This includes a liason service for children needing to enroll in or leave a school for safety purposes. Referrals to other agencies and resources are also provided as needed.
Child care is provided during adult support group meetings, and for other activities such as court appearances (when scheduled in advance).
In addition to the direct work with the children, the DVCCC Children's Program also works with the parents in our Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Counseling programs to assist them in addressing their children's emotional needs.
