Allegheny County Department of Human Services
Allegheny County DHS - Information, Referral & Emergency Service
Behavioral health crisis line answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week and puts the caller in touch with an Allegheny County delegate who can authorize and coordinate involuntary Emergency Examination and Treatment (sometimes called a "302" after the section in the law) and who can provide information about ongoing mental health services. Involuntary commitment is intended for individuals who are in imminent danger of harming themselves or others due to a serious mental illness.
