Mission:
Francisvale’s mission is a no kill shelter, accepting adoptable cats and dogs, providing loving care while looking for permanent homes.
Purpose:
- Shelters and places abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals
- Educates the community to raise the public’s awareness of the plight of homeless animals as well as realizing the benefits of adopting an animal in need.
- Ensures all pets receive any medically necessary treatment, including being spayed/neutered
- Placement in carefully screened homes
- Advocacy and outreach
- Manages and operate a pet cemetery

Hours: Adoption and Surrenders:
Monday through Sunday (by appointment only)

Cemetery:
Monday through Sunday 9am to 3pm (appointment needed if assistance is needed for locating a site)

Donation Drop off:
Monday through Friday 11:00am to 4:00pm; Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 3:00pm

Intake Requirements: The following guidelines are provided to you so you know what to expect throughout the application process.
Francisvale reserves the right to decline applications.


Guideline1: Submit application online. Please include complete veterinary and personal references.

Guideline 2. A Francisvale staff member will review your application and if all adoption requirements are met they will call you to set up an appointment.

Guideline 3. Initial meeting with dogs or cats. All members of family household required to meet Francisvale animal before adoption decision is determined.

Guideline 4. Introduction of existing family pet/s to Francisvale dog.

Guideline 5. Home visit completed by Francisvale representative.

6. Application approved or denied. Pending the completion of all of the above steps and approval of the adoption application, a decision regarding adoption of animal is typically made within one week.

Guideline 7. If the application is approved, adoption counseling takes place with a Francisvale representative to assist in a smooth transition of Francisvale animal into their new, permanent home. Information is given about diet, containment/management/crating, baby gating in house when dog is to be left alone, house training, safe outdoor exercise, preventative veterinary care, manners and behavior training, etc.

Multiple applications are accepted for dogs and cats.
Intake Procedure: Submit application an online. Pending the completion of steps above and approval of the adoption application, a decision regarding adoption of animal is typically made within one week.
Fee Amounts: Minuimum requested donation for adoption:
Dogs-
Puppies (under six months): 300$
Adult dogs (over six months): $250
Senior/Special Needs Dogs(over eight years):$200
Cats-
Kittens (under six months): $150
Adult Cats (over six months): $100
Senior/Special Needs Cats: $75
