Outpatient Services
Offers trauma counseling services to children, families, groups and organizations. The Connections program is designed to assist children and youth ages 2 ½ -21 years who are dealing with a trauma or loss. Children who have experienced significant trauma through abuse, loss, or witnessing violence face unique emotional challenges. Friendship House collaborates with the Children’s Advocacy Center and other local organizations to be prepared to offer immediate assistance to these children. We provide individual, group, and family counseling, as well as family support groups. Our trauma therapists utilize Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) which are both evidence-based programs. Offers Parent Child Interaction Therapy, (PCIT); treatment for a young child, ages 2-7 years old, that focuses on enhancing and improving the parent-child relationship. PCIT consists of 14-20 sessions focusing on two basic interactions, Child Directed Interaction- CDI and Parent Directed Interaction- PDI. Additional services include The SBBH Team Program, a mental health program designed for youth ages 5 to 13 years who are experiencing social, emotional, and or behavioral difficulties that impair their ability to function in school and other settings.
