Our Woodland Academy Child Development Center provides day care and youth services for children and families in Philadelphia, specifically in the Southwest section of our city. Serving children between the ages of six weeks and 14 years, our goal is to offer services that are both enriching and stimulating in a safe environment, and provide a safe passage for children to develop into adulthood.

In Adventure Corps, youth work with the youth and leaders at local centers for worship and service. Not only do they still take part in emblem work but there are other supplements as well such as summer camping and service projects. Adventure Corps members are broken up into two groups, Explorers (1st - 4th grade) and Rangers (5th grade and up).
In Girl Guards, the focus is on the four aspects of personal growth outlined above in the Girl Guard Aim: spiritual, mental, physical and social. Girl Guards meet once a week and focus on these goals by earning emblems within various areas of interest. Girl Guards study art, find out how to respect and take care of the environment, learn the responsibilities of parenthood, gain computer skills and auto know-how, delve into God's Word, discover how to handle difficult situations,

Operates a ten-unit scattered site transitional housing program for homeless women with or without children. Clients coming from the Center's Emergency Shelter or the Women's Resource Center Shelter receive rental assistance and supportive services while residing in scattered site apartments. Services include: case management, assistance in acquiring safe housing, rental and utilities assistance for up to 12 months, life Skills training and goal setting, furniture and household items, emergency food and clothing, art therapy, counseling and legal services, assistance with job training and education, linkages to community agencies, and recreational opportunities.

In partnership with other agencies, operates a transitional housing program for women leaving prison. The program identifies women from the Lackawanna County Prison who might effectively use this opportunity to change the direction of their lives, and offers alternative housing options and support services for up to one year. The ultimate goal of this program is to empower women to sustain independent living following their release from prison. Services include: group sessions in pre-release phase, intensive case management, assistance in finding safe housing, setting measurable goals with each client, assistance in finding employment and job training, rental assistance up to one year, assistance in moving, procuring furniture and personal supplies, art therapy, linkages to community services, assistance in being reunited with children, and recreational activities. All services are provided free of charge.

The Center's Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) program is a center-based program for children ages 2 to 6. The program offers full-day state-of-the-art intensive and comprehensive treatment based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The staff to child ratio is one-to-one. Children who are candidates for Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, Rhett's Disorder and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder.

Provides a summer full of action and adventure. A typical week includes a trip to the pool, a field trip (Baltimore Aquarium, Lakemont Amusement Park, etc.), arts and crafts, academic enrichment activities, physical activity by SPARK certified instructors, and time at local area parks.
