The primary service is assessment of caller needs, followed by sharing of information about and referrals to appropriate resources that will address client needs, questions and concerns. Maintains an extensive database of health and human services, including non-profit agencies and government programs.

Additional services include:
- Production of the Where to Call Guide, a quick reference booklet of Lancaster County resources.
- Website that showcases resources for each county served by PA 211 East
- Compilation of seasonal resources, i.e. holiday and utility programs
- Centralized intake for anyone experiencing homelessness in Lancaster County

Accepts donations of used eyeglasses.

Offers used books for adults and children available for sale. All proceeds fund community services.

Also donates books free of charge to teachers, area school students, as well as libraries and active military service members overseas. Donations of used books and magazines are welcome.

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and , in particular, to encourage and foster:

Community Action Groups

Develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.

Business and professional leaders united who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Focus on giving of themselves in both time and talent. Through annual fundraisers the organization supports many local non-profits. Meetings are held regularly. New membership submissions welcome and encouraged.

Community Service has more than 500 supervised academic, athletic, community outreach and performance-oriented co-curricular programs are available in the District, from elementary school technology clubs to high school varsity sports. In addition to serving student programs, the District's facilities are utilized by thousands of community members for enrichment programs, recreation and general use. The program works with faculty, parents and students at the ten schools to promote existing service efforts, provide resources and develop new service opportunities and programs.

Provides services, social activities, and volunteer opportunities for retirees living in Lancaster City.

Offers one-hour online classes taught by staff from various roles at the agency. Examples of classes include art, Bible studies, book club, cooking, exercise, music, and sign language.

Provides tourist and visitor information, a monthly newsletter, a membership directory, a calendar of events, area maps and brochures, industrial, club, organization, and church directories, relocation packets, business consultations, apartment listings, and S.C.O.R.E. services.

* Job Search/Job Club - Individuals can sign up for Comprehensive Career Services. Work one-on-one with an employment planner to develop an employment plan. For adults 18 years and up. Must meet federal eligibility requirements.
* Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) serves young adults 16-24 years old who are currently enrolled in school in Berks County. Must meet federal eligibility requirements.

Youth are offered hands on projects in areas such as health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement based on their own interests and guided by adult mentors.

Encourages youth and adults of all cultures to explore race together. Includes "reading to reduce racism" after school book clubs, discussion groups, and special events

Offers canine conditioning, advanced obedience training techniques, earthdog training, and a variety of other topics.

Offers books, magazines, children's programs, story time, Internet and computer, audio books on CDS, E-books, Wifi, DVD's, adult programs, and clubs. Also offers summer programs.

Provides a supportive environment for people whose lives have been interrupted by mental illness to pursue their living, working, and learning goals.

Offers a range of youth programs including after school program, summer camps, healthy habits program, a prevention and education program on the problems of drug and alcohol use, gang prevention program, educational field trips, leadership clubs, a basketball league, and community gardening program. Children's library offers storytime, grag & go crafts for Kids, reading clubs and resources for kids and teens.

Provides services to the community, including a scholarship for high school students, youth basketball programming, drug awareness presentations, and services for veterans.

During the year, daily activities include arts and crafts, board games, sports activities, tutoring, career development workshops and clubs. Some of the most popular clubs include Art Club, Dance Club, and Girls Club which bring together teenage girls to discuss issues that are most affecting them.

Many special events are hosted at 3rd and Spruce for City youth. Our most popular are the holiday dances which bring together kids from 3rd and Spruce and the 11th and Pike Rec Centers to dance, eat, and have a blast hanging out with their friends. Other events in 2012 included a basketball workshop, Career nights, and Rec Idol.

The recreation center

The 11th and Pike Recreation Center provides safe and fun recreation activities to City youth all year long. During the school year, the recreation center is open every day from 3:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and in the summer hosts a playground program daily from 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The center has an elementary-size gymnasium, a game room, homework room, and cafeteria. During the year, daily activities include arts and crafts, board games, sports activities, tutoring, career development workshops and clubs. Some of the most popular clubs include Art and Dance Clubs.

11th and Pike was host to several special events in 2012 including our Easter Celebration and a special visit from Disney’s Phineas and Ferb.

The recreation center serves as a "home away from home" to many kids. They are provided meals every day through our Kids Café program, receive homework help and valuable mentoring time with our qualified staff.
