Spectra offers both home-based and on-site behavior therapy services by licensed behavior specialists and trained therapeutic support staff. Many are eligible for these services under their private insurance when there is a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.Our staff approaches draw from various techniques including : Applied Behavior Analysis, Floor Time, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Sensory Integration.

Home and Community-Based Autism services are provided to children ranging in age from early childhood to twenty-one, using a tiered approach.

For pre-school children, Friendship House offers an intensive behavioral intervention home-based program that focuses on increasing basic learning and language skills.

For school-aged children, interventions may include Direct Service Professional support in school, to help the individual learn appropriate adaptive behaviors and decrease behavioral symptoms that may impede learning. In addition, home programming may also be a component of a childâs treatment plan. Home programming for school-aged children typically involves increasing daily living, and socialization while also decreasing maladaptive behaviors. Other individuals on the Spectrum may benefit from interventions that are based in the community in which they live to encourage and utilize services/resources available to all of members of our society.

The Center's Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) program is a center-based program for children ages 2 to 6. The program offers full-day state-of-the-art intensive and comprehensive treatment based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The staff to child ratio is one-to-one. Children who are candidates for Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, Rhett's Disorder and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder.

ABA is a type of therapy that helps improve communication and social interactions, develop new skills, and support positive behavior. Families have two options. They can receive a free consultation with a therapist who can provide interventions and strategies to manage behaviors and increase engagement. For families wanted more training, multiple sessions of individualized coaching working one-on-one with an Easterseals ABA therapist. Sessions extend beyond the parents to include other caregivers in the child’s life like siblings, grandparents or sitters. All meetings and coaching sessions are done through a secure online platform using videoconferencing. The program is provided at no cost to families thanks to funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
