Provides wide range of services designed to work with clients to thrive in the home environment best suited to their needs. Assessment of need is done through our office and we work with volunteers and subcontractors to deliver appropriate service. Some of the services are:

Home Delivered Meals A meal is provided to functionally disabled, home-bound or convalescent people age 60+.

• Personal Care Service Provides personal grooming help - bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and transferring.
  
• Respite CareProgram designed to provide relief to the primary caregiver. Eligibility and hours will be determined in the assessment process.
  
• Chore Service Minor home repair may be possible when safety and necessary upkeep is required.
  
• Lifeline Alert Services Personal response system to help people live independently. 24 hour monitoring.
  
• Protective Services Reports of abuse can be made by calling 717-334-9296 or 800-548-3240 24 hours a day.

Offers adults with disabilities various opportunities for pre-employment activities, community work assessments, benefits counseling, job placement, job coaching, and follow-up job support services.

Offers a variety of individualized services to both youth and adults with disabilities and employers. Those seeking employment can receive assistance with: resume preparation, appropriate completion of job applications, job interviews, training assistance at the job site, counseling for job related concerns, transportation training, and follow up services to ensure that the individual is satisfied with their job and meeting the expectations of the employer. AHEDD also helps SSA beneficiaries to understand how earnings will impact government benefits as they move toward greater independence.

Provides services and resources to blind and visually impaired people. Services include non-medical information and referral, the ACB Braille Forum (available in braille, large print, digital cartridge, email, online, and podcast), the ACB E-Forum (available via email, online, and podcast), legislative and governmental monitoring, scholarship assistance, and public education.

Provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Programs include educational, residential and vocational opportunities.

Provides technical assistance to private businesses or local and state organizations on meeting ADA compliance. Includes a walk-through of the business by qualified people with disabilities and a written summary of recommendations.

Advocates and volunteers work on state and local disability issues.

A no-cost multi-faceted, lifestyle evaluation to determine the programs, services and support available to assist you to Live Well with a Disability.

Provides home modifications to individuals with low income living in York County. ADA & UCC Assistance Comprehensive, on-site assessments, technical assistance, and training on the federal and state anti-discrimination and accessibility laws

. Training Individualized, interactive workshops on disability awareness and disability related issues; monthly consumer training series.

Provides independent living programs and direct care services to all individuals with disabilities. Also provides autism services, veteran services and Hospice Wraparound services.

Offers programs that connect clients and their family to supportive services. Support is as individualized as possible and addresses each person's needs, within their local community.

Provides resource materials in the form of the Where to Turn for Help guide, reentry guide, Human Services Directory, and etc. The Information and Referral service is comprised of both PA211 and LINK.

penncares community habilitation services-for adults ages 21 and up with intellectual disabilities. penncares community habilitation services foster personal growth with goal-oriented activities to develop and enhance independent living, recreation, socialization and other life skills.

Provides advocacy, information and referrals for Pennsylvanians who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or deaf blind and their families and caregivers.

Helps seniors 60+ and adults with physical or developmental disabilities along with their families and caregivers to find services and resources in Philadelphia County.

Provides advocacy for supporting policies and practices that promote systems change for people living with disabilities and their families.
