Certiports performance-based testing uses specialized examination software while simultaneously running the actual Office programs. Microsoft Office Specialist is the official Microsoft Office certification for desktop productivity. Certification is available in Word, OutlookR, Excel, and PowerPointR. Expert level certifications are offered for Word and Excel. Exams are available for Microsoft Office XP and Office 2003. Provides affordable new classes in an effort to help jump-start careers. EASTERN offers a wide variety of job skill training programs for adults which are designed to meet specific job-skill needs. More than 1,000 adults gain new skills at EASTERN each year. EASTERN students in certain trade program can easily move directly into an apprentice program, or enroll in the next level of the program at EASTERN. In order to participate in the apprenticeship program, the employer must agree to the student’s participation in the program while working for the organization in the Electrical; Plumbing; or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning fields. This would require a commitment of two nights a week for four years. EASTERN also offers over 100 online courses from A+ certification preparation, to Designing Effective Websites, to Visual Basic 2008. Adult programs offer Culinary Arts mini programs, certification and job skills programs such as Servsafe, apprenticeship programs, computer courses, such as, Microsoft Office 2007, Automotive Industry Emissions and Industry Safety Inspection, Welding, Building Trades, CPR, and Automotive Collision Repair and Technology. Receiving certain certifications may be of value to employers, as they strive to keep insurance low.

The secondary curriculum is organized around five cluster areas: Automotive Technologies, Construction and Building Trades, Engineering Technologies, Information Technologies, and Public Service Occupations. Adult students may attend full-time classes from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, if space permits. Federal Financial Aid is available for students who qualify.
