• Animal Activity Area: Two horse show rings and one practice ring can be rented for a nominal fee or each one can be rented separately. All three rings are locked except on the day of rental. Numerous equestrian shows are held during the spring and summer. A schedule of events and a price listing sheet can be obtained from the Parks Office. The trails and roadways within the park offer over 12 miles of riding area and is suitable for everything from English and Western pleasure to barrel racing, pole bending and jumping.

Attention Rail Trail users, the adjoining railroad tracks are now active. The Steam into History excursion train is using the railroad tracks along the Rail Trail. (From New Freedom to Hanover Junction Train Station). Expect to see a train at any time while enjoying a trip on the trail. Provides support services for people over sixty years of age, or with a diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer's or other organic brain syndrome. Offers a summer playground program. Held at Charlestown Park, Greider Park, and Washington Borough Park.

Offers team sports leagues as a hook to engage and impact the lives of young people in a holistic way. Flag football runs April to June. Basketball runs October to December. Volleyball runs October to May. Coaching includes mentoring and informal, interactive Bible studies.

Offers after-school youth boxing, personal training, and boxing instruction to children and adults.

Provides activities and events annually for those with autism and special needs and their families.

Provides therapuetic fishing events, environmental service projects, and educational events and retreats for caregivers. Events are hosted on an 18-acre refuge with a trout stream, fruit orchard, lodge home, activities center, pavillion, fishing docks, trails, rest areas, and fire pit.

During the school year, the recreation center is open every day from 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and in the summer hosts a playground program daily from 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The center has a full-size gymnasium, a game room, homework room, and cafeteria. During the year, daily activities include arts and crafts, board games, sports activities, tutoring, career development workshops and clubs. Some of the most popular clubs include Art Club, Dance Club, and Girls Club which bring together teenage girls to discuss issues that are most affecting them.

Many special events are hosted at 3rd and Spruce for City youth. Our most popular are the holiday dances which bring together kids from 3rd and Spruce and the 11th and Pike Rec Centers to dance, eat, and have a blast hanging out with their friends. Other events in 2012 included a basketball workshop, Career nights, and Rec Idol.

The 11th and Pike Recreation Center provides safe and fun recreation activities to City youth all year long. During the school year, the recreation center is open every day from 3:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and in the summer hosts a playground program daily from 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The center has an elementary-size gymnasium, a game room, homework room, and cafeteria. During the year, daily activities include arts and crafts, board games, sports activities, tutoring, career development workshops and clubs. Some of the most popular clubs include Art and Dance Clubs.

11th and Pike was host to several special events in 2012 including our Easter Celebration and a special visit from Disney’s Phineas and Ferb.

The recreation center serves as a "home away from home" to many kids. They are provided meals every day through our Kids Café program, receive homework help and valuable mentoring time with our qualified staff.

Primarily a ski and snowboard club, offering discounted ski trips for all levels from beginners to experts.

Also offer a variety of social events all year including bike rides, dances, hiking and picnics.

Fitness Center includes an open Gym, Fitness area, Weight room, Exercise Room, Steam room and Sauna, and Locker rooms. Personal Trainers available. Fitness Classes include Senior Fit, Chair Tai Chi, Parkinson's Exercise, Dance for Parkinson's, Zumba, Yoga, Cardio Rounds, Rum Ball, Dance, Silver Sneakers and more. Pickleball and Annual Dodge ball tournament.

Provides Christian instruction and worship opportunites, some counseling, annual Christmas service for church and community, seasonal fellowship events, recreational activities such as picnics, crafts, bowling, etc.

Ensures a healthy lunch and snack for children when school is out of session.

Serves as a cooling center during extreme heat weather emergencies (Code Red).
