Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech--Clarke Philadelphia
Clarke Pennsylvania Auditory/Oral Center - Clarke Auditory/Oral Preschool
Through stimulating classes, children with hearing loss learn about themselves as they experience the ever-changing world around them. Our curriculum enhances children's listening, speech and language skills while fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative development. Preschool teachers at Clarke Pennsylvania fuel children's minds with ideas and concepts through creative problem solving, discovery, exploration, reasoning, and hands-on activities. Children come to Clarke Pennsylvania five days a week to learn together in small class sizes of 6 to 8 students. Classrooms are designed for the unique acoustical needs of children with hearing loss. In addition to being in the classroom, children have speech language therapy every day which is facilitated by a speech and language pathologist or teacher of the deaf. Daily curriculum includes math, art, reading, science, history, dramatic play, free choice, music, and sensory-motor integration which is all taught through a central theme, worked on both in the classroom and in therapy. Specialized activities address the individual needs of every child and family.

Introducing TOT SPOT and TWEEN SCENE @ Or Ami! Finally, an exciting, new alternative to after school programming where your children--preschoolers through 5th graders--can be in the same place at the same time! Our vision is to run an after school program designed to exercise the minds and body’s of each child. Through creative, diverse, educational, age appropriate and fun activities, each child will have an opportunity to grow, learn, be loved and stay safe in a nurturing and loving environment. Our goal is to establish an atmosphere of trust and support while working together to create a feeling of family and community. TOT SPOT is for preschoolers who attend Or Ami Nursery School. From 3:00 to 6:00pm, an exciting hands-on program is in the works. Children will have opportunities to try as many different kinds of activities as possible to enrich understanding, learning and growth. Most importantly, each child will be loved and be safe under the direction and care of warm, loving and experienced staff. TWEEN SCENE is for children in the local elementary schools and is a great opportunity to break up a long school day. Buses will bring children to Or Ami each day where a snack and physical play will be provided. Our children will have time for homework with a certified teacher from the Colonial School District as well as the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, creative activities and projects.

    Covenant Academy
Covenant Academy - Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten
The foundation of our preschool and pre-kindergarten program is a "child-centered emergent curriculum" consisting of developmentally appropriate project-based learning. It is a curriculum in which teachers take their cues from the children, and expand upon their interests. This is accomplished through observing what the children are doing, listening to what they are saying and documenting these observations. Projects are then developed that have been inspired by the children. Teachers begin to enrich their classrooms with books, music, art supplies and other materials related to the project. As the children's interests begin to change, this process is repeated in order to keep the learning experience fresh, exciting and child-centered. Cultural Enrichments include Spanish and Sign Language. Pre-K is given "home activities" to complete at least two times per week.

    Gloria Dei Church
Gloria Dei Church - Preschool Discovery Center
Preschool children are in the beginning stages of faith development. What they learn about God comes largely from their relationship with caring adults. We trust that children will see themselves as unique creations of God and part of a loving Christian family. The focus of our program is on God’s love as seen through the helping, sharing and caring demonstrated by Jesus. Application to life is an integral part of the curriculum. This is accomplished through: - Scripture - using Bible stories - Life - using everyday stories that show children how the principle presented in the Bible story can be lived in their life - Concrete examples - using object lessons, hands on activities and their own personal examples or stories - Curriculum - Intentional weaving of Christian concepts and hands on activities throughout the preschool curriculum Chapel - Weekly visits to the chapel give children the opportunity to be part of a children’s worship experience which includes songs, and age appropriate bible stories and to praise God. (3 & 4 year old CE Programs) GOALS The Gloria Dei Preschool provides each child, regardless of race, gender, ability, special needs, ethnicity, socio-economic standing, or religion, opportunities to: - Develop social skills in a group setting - Develop language skills to enable the child to convey wants, needs and ideas appropriately, expand vocabularies, and respond to and ask good questions. - Develop the ability to observe, compare and describe objects and events. - Develop thought processes that lead to greater understanding, awareness and curiosity through investigation and exploration with a variety of resources in a safe environment. - Recognize and respect the rights, feelings and property of others and understand their place as responsible members of a family and community. - Develop self-confidence in expressing, choosing and initiating behaviors and making decisions, and learn to accept responsibility for those choices in a group setting apart from parents. - Develop good habits in the areas of health, nutrition, safety and hygiene. - Develop physical coordination and motor skills and explore with the five senses. - Experience a variety of visual art, music, drama, dance, literature and creative movement activities and learn to appreciate the expressive arts and cultures of other people, places and times. - Experiment with a variety of tools, manipulatives, and materials for open-ended exploration. - Engage the imagination with rhymes, songs, fingerplays and pretend play. - Develop a greater awareness of the self as a valued individual and competent learner.

    Montessori Prep - Horsham
Montessori Prep is offered for children ages 18 months through three years. In our Prep program, toddlers are introduced to the initial Montessori concepts and materials that stimulate their natural desire to learn at an early age. Toddlers move between a combination of structured learning and free choice activities which are geared to enhance the development of independence and self-help skills. Children in the Prep program may also chose to attend for afternoons as well. This Prep Plus afternoon program includes lunchtime, nap and supervised play. Schedules for two, three or five afternoons may be arranged with the school administrator.
