DURING COVID-19: Food Pantry will operate by appointment only to the general public, Monday through Friday, 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Individuals have to call to schedule an appointment to pick up a bag of food between that limited window of time.

A first-come, first-serve assistance program offers low-income individuals residing in Venango County a one-time grant. The grant may be used in areas including, but not limited to; housing, utilities, food, and financial responsibilities. Checks will be written and distributed directly to the affiliated party of the financial hardship. Food assistance will be paid out in the form of vouchers redeemable at Save-a-Lot in Franklin. There will be no exchange of funds between United Way and the applicant.

Distributing 1,000 Easter meals to Venango County residents. Each household will receive a 8 - 10 lb ham, along with a Food Voucher for Sander's Market in Franklin, PA. Items will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Distribution of food vouchers for Christmas dinner will be held Dec. 3, 2019 for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the registration locations below:

A federally-funded program that provides nutrition education and food vouchers for pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children younger than age five who cannot afford an adequate diet and, in the case of infants older than six weeks of age, who have a condition which shows a need for better nutrition. Vouchers are picked up at a WIC site (which are usually located in an health center that provides maternity and/or pediatric care) on a monthly basis and may be exchanged for milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice, vegetables, peanut butter, beans and formula in most grocery stores.

Provides food supplies to needy individuals and families in the Martinsburg area. Also have food vouchers.

The Kellyn Food Access Initiative objective is to ensure that each neighborhood has healthy whole food options on a year-round basis, sourced as locally as possible, that are convenient, accessible, and affordable. The initiative supports the economic growth of local farmers; and provides a strong neighborhood infrastructure that includes the “Eat Real Food” Mobile Market at neighborhood sites, voucher integration with healthcare systems.

Each of their weekly site stops includes produce sampling and an educational component, such as nutrition, cooking, exercise, gardening, or chronic disease screening. The objective is to connect with the families and engage in a healthy lifestyle discussion, providing healthy food access at an affordable price.

The "Eat Real Food" Mobile Market visits multiple sites on a regular weekly schedule and provides the opportunity and knowledge for families to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Provides food vouchers to eligible seniors to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from approved Farmers' Markets in Pennsylvania. Vouchers are not able to be used on citrus fruits, bananas, pineapples or other produce that is not grown or produced in Pennsylvania.
Each eligible senior may receive $50.

Available only in the summer months between June and November, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Provides food cards to Giant Grocery store that supplement food boxes; gas vouchers for out of town doctors appointments, hospitals, and job interviews; and donated furniture when available. Also offers a monthly community meal and Christmas food baskets.

A federally funded assistance program, that provides a one (1) month mortgage or a one (1) month metered utility payment or vendor minimum delivery amount of a non-metered utility (wood, oil or propane if the primary heat source). This service may also allow for hotel/motel vouchers in order to provide shelter to homeless individuals. Sullivan County households can be assisted once a year through this program while funds are available and on a first come first serve basis.

Provides emergency
assistance those who have exhausted limits, resources, or services of other agencies. On-site mini-pantry, emergency clothing, vouchers for emergency food, transportation, medical or rent assistance.

Referral to community resources for food, medicine, clothing and legal aid. Food vouchers are given for local pantries.

Provides food assistance, clothing and furniture vouchers (to Salvation Army thrift store in Meadville) based on requirements. Utility Assistance, Mobile feeding, summer camp, and emergency off-site lodging (max 3 days) as funds are available.

Provides holiday assistance for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The program offers food vouchers, toys, winter clothing, a holiday party.
