Authorized loan and grant purposes include but are not limited to the following:
1. Insulate
2. Provide storm windows
3. Purchase or repair heating systems
4. Repair roofs
5. Repair siding
6. Repair or supply structural supports
7. Provide a convenient and sanitary water supply
8. Provide bathroom facilities
9. Provide handicap accessibility
10. Pay expenses, such as fees for legal and other technical services and reasonable connection fees for water, sewage and electricity or gas.
How much money can I get?
⢠Loan amount not exceed a cumulative total of $20,000
⢠Maximum life-time grant amount is $7,500
⢠Loans and grants can be combined for up to $27,500 in assistance
What are the terms of the loan or grant?
Loans can be repaid over 20 years
Loan interest rate is fixed at 1%
Full title service is required for loans of $7,500 or more
Grants have a lifetime limit of $7,500
Grants must be repaid if the property is sold in less than 3 years
If applicants can repay part, but not all of the costs, applicants may be offered a loan and grant combination
