Assists consumers in accessing the system via the Base Service Unit (BSU), assessing financial resources, helping consumers choose appropriate services and coordinating all efforts towards service goals. The current array of case management includes administrative case management, resource coordination, and intensive case management.

Offers a variety of services designed to improve or support the consumer's adjustment and integration within the family and community through rehabilitative activities, social skills development, recreational or educational programs, activities of daily living, skills development, and other supportive services. Specific programs include: adult developmental training, family support services (FSS), clubhouses, and drop-in centers.

Provides short-term intervention services to children and adults who are experiencing behavioral health crises. Conducts comprehensive bio-psycho-social evaluations for individuals and families to help individuals and families better understand their mental health challenges from a culturally appropriate perspective. Provides recommendations for treatment, and refers individuals/families to appropriate treatment programs.

Supports crime victims and communities throughout Pennsylvania in their recovery from traumatic events. Such crimes include: acts of Terrorism, school shootings, workplace shootings, arson, homicides, domestic violence, multiple deaths resulting from criminal activity, robbery, and others as requested. Provides technical assistance for local decision makers, leads group crisis intervention sessions, and provides coping skills to help victims begin to talk about their reactions to the trauma.

Provides psychiatric inpatient services for individuals who are experiencing moderate (sub acute) to high levels of psychiatric symptoms and need an inpatient level of care as a safe place to stabilize.

Provides a safe, caring setting for individuals who have serious behavioral health problems such as bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, or substance abuse. Also appropriate for individuals with psychiatric problems who may be overwhelmed by homelessness, unemployment, legal or financial problems, or those experiencing the emotional consequences of physical illnesses such as HIV or AIDS.

Crisis and Acute Care Services provides evaluations and make treatment recommendations for individuals in need. Emergency psychiatric evaluations are available as necessary. If inpatient treatment is needed the staff will assist in finding an inpatient facility and making a referral.

Mental health evaluation of adult and juvenile offenders to address questions of competency, the potential of future crimes, and relationship of a mental health disorder to an accident or crime.

Offering individual therapy for children and adolescents, involvement of other members of the family to help with meeting goals in their daily life is available. Our child psychiatrists are available to evaluate whether there is a need for medications and to prescribe and monitor their effectiveness.

Utilizes the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) to explain, offer, and assist with the delivery of Behavioral Health Services for children and their families. Upon a child being referred, intake worker will assist the child's parent/guardian in one of three ways; a parent self-referring their child to a provider of the Behavioral Health service being sought, an intake with a Northumberland County Behavioral Health caseworker for the purpose of intake worker referring the child to an agreed upon Behavioral Health service, or an interagency team meeting for the purpose of developing a Behavioral Health service plan for the child and subsequently referring the child to a provider.

Wraparound services are medically prescribed intensive mental health services designed to provide supportive, time-limited, and individualized planned behavioral health interventions involving the child or adolescent, the family, and the treatment team. Services are designed to help the child and family develop skills so that the needs of the child are being met and the child exhibits more appropriate behaviors while being maintained in the home.

Wraparound services are provided in homes, schools, and in the community as prescribed in the evaluation.

Offers an intensive outpatient program to help individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. Provides group therapy, as well as linkages to individual therapy and psychiatric services for medication management. Specialized clinical resources for people who have experienced trauma and/or who have substance abuse disorders will address the particular needs of these participants. Specialized clinical resources for young adults and those with developmental disabilities will address these participant's particular needs.

Outpatient individual, family and group therapy are available. Medication management is available with a psychiatrist.

Central's Case Management Services are provided through various levels of care which include Intensive Case Management (ICM), Resource Coordination (RC) and Service Case Management (SCM). These programs are designed to reduce homelessness and hospitalizations of persons suffering from severe and persistent mental illness.

Provides community based counseling services to older adults and/or their caregivers who are experiencing mental health or emotional issues. Services include individual, couples and family counseling. In-Home Services are provided to home-bound older adults in need of professional counseling. The Senior Center Behavioral Health Program has behavioral health services at the eight senior centers funded by COSA.

Mental Health services targeted for adults who are seriously mentally ill and children/adolescents who are seriously emotionally disturbed or at-risk of becoming so. Initial access to services is through the Information and Referral Unit.

Provides Family-Based Mental Health Services to enable parents to care for their children who have serious emotional concerns at home and to reduce the need for child and adolescent out-of-home placements.
