Adolescent Crisis Services consist of two programs: the first is a Family Preservation Program of intensive counseling and support delivered in the homes of families with adolescents who are at imminent risk of being placed outside of their homes. Helping Hands for Heroes is a partnership between Franklin
County Adult Probation and the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Office.

This program allows adult probation participants the opportunity to serve military members, veterans, and their

Franklin County Juvenile Probation, under the direction and guidance of the 39th Judicial District of Pennsylvania provides probation services to Franklin County youth who fall within the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court under Chapter 63 of the Pennsylvania Criminal Code. Commissioners work closely with the County's Elected Officials and approve annual budgets for all county departments. Elected commissioners manage the following offices: District Attorney, Snyder County Courts, Jury Commissioners, Prothonotary, Register and Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
Some of the departments supervised by commissioners are: Elections Domestic Relations, Emergency Services, Maintenance of County Buildings and Bridges, Planning & Development, Probation Department, Snyder County Prison Tax Assessment & Administration, and Veterans' Affairs.

The Register of Wills office serves many purposes: probate of wills of deceased residents of Snyder County; appointment of estates of individuals without a will; and maintenance of records pertaining to estates. The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for the preservation of records relating to real property in the county, and as such is required to record and affix the Recorder of Deeds seal on all recorded deeds, mortgages, subdivision plans, and all other records relating to property ownership. This office records oaths, bonds and commissions of all county officers, notaries public, and District Magistrates.

Probation services are a mandate of the Court of Common Pleas; ensuring the legal accountability of those individuals under its supervision. Probation services include individualized direction, client centered goal coordination, the effective use of community-based resources and the swift and consistent administration of prescribed sanctions.

Provides legal counsel and representation for Lancaster County defendants in criminal court for summary offenses, misdemeanors and felonies. Services are provided from arrest to trial, including probation and parole violation hearings and appeals. Also provides defense representation in paternity and protection from abuse cases. Provides legal representation for juveniles in court.

Register of Wills
- Grants letters testamentary to those probating a will and letters of administration to those who die without a will. (Records are open to public inspection.)
- Collects inheritance tax for Pennsylvania

Orphans Court
- Issues marriage licenses
- Provides applications to persons wishing to obtain copies of birth certificates
- Handles all adoption proceedings. Adoptions are sealed and held in closed court
- Settle estates of minors and incapacitated persons

Represents all indigent persons charged with violating the law.
Provides free legal representation for qualifying applicants for the following: Felony cases, misdemeanor cases, certain criminal traffic citations, mental health hearings, juvenile delinquency, probation and parole violations

A PFA order is a civil court petition designed to place restrictions on an abuser, such as a prohibition of any contact, and penalize them for violations with fines, probation or jail time. A person can file a "no hit" PFA, which would levy penalties if the abuser harasses, threatens, or touches them, or a full "no contact" PFA that restricts any contact whatsoever.

Supervises those convicted offenders who have been placed on probation by the Court. Probation is a sentencing alternative that allows the offender to remain in the community under the supervision of a Probation Officer subject to conditions deemed appropriate by the Court.

Parole
is a conditional release of an offender who has served part of their sentence in prison to serve the balance of the sentence under the supervision of a Parole Officer.

Families who would benefit from further supportive services work with a caseworker to develop a Family Service Plan. The goal of this service is to work with families to prevent out-of-home placements and/or help to reunify families through short-term intensive in-home services. Family Counseling works closely with the caseworker or juvenile probation officer to strive toward family success.

Provides the Court of Common Pleas and community an effective and efficient delivery of correctional services involving the supervision of both Adult and Juvenile offenders being especially concerned with public safety along with coordinating activities designed to allow offenders to become productive members of society. Provides a variety of services including Court Reporting Networking Evaluations, offender supervision and community protection, and electronic monitoring.
Also offers various forms of community service, allowing offenders to work off their fines and fees while developing skills that they can incorporate into a crime free lifestyle.

Processes and provides deeds, deed restrictions, mortgages, satisfaction pieces, releases, assignments, easements, rights of ways, leases, survey maps, and military discharge records.The Register of Wills has jurisdiction of the probate of wills and grant of letters to a personal representative of a decedent who resided in Tioga County. Also, serves as an agent for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the collection of inheritance tax.

Provides supervision for those individuals who are placed on probation, parole or ARD. This office also supervises those offenders placed on house arrest, work release, furlough, bail supervision or those who are ordered to perform community service. The Probation Officer makes an appropriate referral for the offender to receive the proper treatment or counseling.

Counsels and supervises youth who are referred by local police departments as a result of having committed a crime, either a misdemeanor or a felony. Also ensures that youth receive appropriate treatment and services to repair harm and build competencies.

Provides supervision to adult and juvenile offenders, provides recommendations to the court, protection of the community, and collection enforcement of court ordered fees, fines, costs, and restitution.

Responsible for the probate of all estates for decedents dying in the County of Berks. Collects inheritance tax for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Issues marriage licenses. Maintains the dockets of all probate proceedings. Serves as Clerks of Orphans' Court. Maintains all records of adoptions and guardianship in the Orphans' Court division of the Court of Common Pleas. Serves as presiding officer in all probate hearings. Under special circumstances, the Register will perform probates and take marriage license applications in the home, assisted living facility or hospital of the citizen in need of our services.
