Patients who may have been unsuccessful in past treatment and recovery attempts, with numerous relapses, and whose addiction has significantly impacted their ability to live the productive lives they want for themselves. Stabilizing a patient’s mental and physical health, educating them on their condition, and beginning the healing process is the thrust of the Extended Stay Program. Focus: Problem identification and building a foundation for learning and changing based on the Stages of Change Model and facilitated through Motivation Interviewing, CBT and many other proven techniques. A process of Discovery is started to uncover primary issues and perpetuating factors to each patient’s current situation. Detrimental lifestyle patterns are identified and the process of change is begun. Treatment Care Plans will guide a systematic approach to behavioral practice of new ways of dealing with difficult situations, past and present stressors, and adjustment to sobriety. Pointing a person in the direction of Recovery and preparing them for the journey ahead is the goal of the program. Setting: The Extended Stay philosophy is to take the patient through exploration of all aspects of his/her life. The staff plays a large role in exploring the roots of each patient’s condition along with identifying potential barriers to growth. Supportive clinical staff persons assist the patient in facing and overcoming daily challenges while guiding them toward a more constructive and effective lifestyle. Near the end of each patient’s stay, KeyStone’s Aftercare Specialist begins to develop a plan for post-treatment life. Patients will explore alternate, supportive living arrangements; ongoing treatment options; services available; and a host of other elements to make this recovery attempt more successful. Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital
Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital - Addiction - Free Pain Management - Montgomery; Norristow
A program developed specifically for those patients suffering from co-occurring issues of chronic pain and substance abuse and/or addiction. Pain and Addition Program: Addiction to pain medication is a common diagnosis and focus of treatment at Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital. Physical pain, if not well managed, often acts as a primary trigger for addictive processes. The interdependence of pain management and addiction requires a high level of medical expertise to generate consistently successful outcomes. Forge Medical Center and Hospital utilizes various proven therapeutic modalities, including the Addiction-Free Pain Management® System, to target the causes of pain. Thus, the patient receives the most comprehensive treatment available. Treatment seeks to use the fewest medications possible, and abstinence is always preferred. If medication is required, non-addictive medications with fewer side effects are considered first. Occasionally, opiates may be indicated for effective pain management, and if needed, an effective individualized medication management plan is developed.
