Drug & Alcohol Assessment and Evaluation
Provides professional drug and alcohol assessments and evaluations by phone for individuals when a general drug & alcohol assessment is required when a prescription medication or street drug and/or alcohol are part of the following circumstances:
A DUI / DWI arrest or charge where the driver was charged with impairment from drug use or both drug and alcohol use
; Other Court related charges such as: drug possession or paraphernalia charges, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, domestic violence, trespassing
; A general request by a physician or where the physician has concerns about abuse of a prescription medication
; If you or someone close to you has a concern about your use of drugs and/or alcohol and you would like an assessment
. After assessment is completed, your evaluator will provide a professional report in your secure account. Court representatives, doctors, or others can only obtain a report with outcome of your assessment.
Chemical alcohol and drug tests (e.g. urine drug test or other tests) is part of your assessment. Necessity is determined on a case-by-case basis by your evaluator or the requesting authority.

Services offered can be utilized as a step down from a higher level of care, or as a first step in assisting a consumer who is suffering from a substance use disorder.
During the intake appointment consumers will be screened for acute intoxication or withdrawal symptoms. Once this assessment is completed, the consumer will be placed in the appropriate level of care. The program length will vary based on the needs and the personâ??s progress in treatment.
Services are available to adolescents and adults age 12 and older who demonstrate a need for substance abuse treatment. This includes mandated and or court ordered treatment for DUI and other legal infractions. The consumers of these services may also be diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health disorder.
Medically assisted treatment is available and can include suboxone or vivitrol.

    WellSpan Philhaven Drug and Alcohol Substance Use Disorder - York - Edgar Street
    Offers adult substance abuse counseling on an outpatient and intensive outpatient basis. Provide a comprehensive assessment, referral,drug and alcohol education, and individual and/or group counseling.

    Also provide aids to prevent addiction in the first place.

    Offer Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) for Opioid Addiction. Pysicians use Suboxone and Vivitol at treatment modalities.

    To help develop plans for handling situations when drinking and driving may be involved.
    To learn adequate refusal skills that will preclude the reoccurrence of arrest.
    To provide clients with an overview of the progression symptoms and effects of alcoholism/chemical dependency.
