Mercy Medical Angels (MMA)-sponsored charitable medical transportation system exists to benefit individuals living in poverty and/or living in rural or small town areas who lack the financial means to travel to distant medical specialists for essential care and treatment.

MMA administers multiple programs that serve financially-stressed patients requiring transportation throughout the United States. MMA accomplishes these programs using one or more of the modes of transportation described below.

• Commercial Airline Tickets - MMA administers charitable or deep-discount airline ticket programs for patients and patient escorts in cooperation with the major U.S. airlines.
• Volunteer Pilot Operations -Volunteer pilots who own or rent small aircraft are available to patients and an escort needing transportation for medical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment. Patients must be ambulatory.
