ACT in Faith - Financial Assistance and Community Cupboard
Provides support in 3 basic program areas:
-Basic Need(eg. groceries, medical expenses)
-Employment Support(eg. transportation costs, ID, cell phone, resume/job search, education fees, pre-employment costs etc...),
-Housing Stabilization(eg. evection and utility shut-off prevention, fuel, storage etc...).

The services through which these programs provide support are: Client Emergency Fund-emergency financial assistance, Community Closet-grocery cupboard that focuses on personal care and household items (not covered by SNAP/FoodStamps) and supplemental dry food goods, and the ACT Now Network-email network of those willing to be informed when there is an urgent need (e.g.clothing, home goods, ride to doctor).

In the summer, students will work ***we focus on work age appropriate training, services and support to further their chances of success. Program offerings for participants focus on the following 4 main areas: educational achievement; positive citizenship and leadership development; preparing for and maintaining employment; and support through guidance, counseling, and adult mentoring.
    Clients are exposed to high demand careers and go on several tours of successful businesses to learn about different careers.
    Clients are assisted in their college search, financial aid, and completing the FAFSA. SAT prep is offered and clients go on several college visits throughout their time in the program.

    Funds free showers at the YMCA of Harrisburg. You do not need a shower pass in order to take a shower but you will be required to provide your name and other contact information to YMCA staff.

    - The Sunday morning breakfast, for anyone in need of a free breakfast, takes place from 8:30am to 9:15 am with measures to ensure the safety of volunteers and guests. Entrance is at the Blackberry Street door closest to River Street. Handicapped entrance is in front of the church on 2nd Street.

    - The International Service Center (located on the first floor of the church) and Market Square Presbyterian Church also provide a food pantry on Fridays from 1-4 pm; Saturdays, 9-noon; and Sundays, 8-10. The entrance is on Blackberry Street.

    - The food pantry is open to anyone in need of food. We will try to provide more fresh, nutritious food for clients. ID is not required.

    - In conjunction with HELP Ministries and the client's caseworker, photo IDs and birth certificates may be available. No walk-ins.

    - Youth Ministry programs offered.

    - Sunday school for children pre-school to high school age.
