Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)
Assists with households behind in rental payments and/or utilities due to financial hardship, directly or indirectly related to Covid-19. If assistance is needed, in addition to overdue payments, this program can assist with an additional three months or rental payments to prevent homelessness which is subject to eligibility and funding availability. Preference given to first-time applicants and households which are facing immediate threat of eviction or utiliy shut off.

One or more tenants in the household has: Unemployment benefits, or experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the Covid-19.
One or more individuals in the household can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability, which may include a past-due utility or rent notice or eviction notice unsafe or unhealthy living conditions.
The household meets 80% of the Wayne County Median Income guidelines.

    Area utility company which supplies natural gas to industrial commercial and residential customers.


    Specialized Customer Outreach Program services include:
    • Customer Assistance and Referral Evaluation Service (CARES) Program
      Assists UGI customers who are having difficulty paying their bills. Customer representatives meet and discuss LIHEAP, budget counseling, weatherization services and community resources.


    • Operation SHARE
      A one-time financial assistance payment of the client's active gas account providing the customer has demonstrated a history of regular payments and meets eligibility criteria.


    • CAP (Customer Assistance Program)
      Personalized monthly billing program that helps low income, payment troubled customers better afford their UGI bills. Based on family size and income.


    • LIURP (Low Income Usage Reduction Program)
      UGI's weatherization program is offered to qualified customers who use UGI for heating their home. Program services are provided free of charge and may include window and baseboard caulking, door and window weather-stripping, attic and sidewall insulation, duct and pipe insulation, ventilation, water conservation devices, furnace inspection and energy education.

    Optional programs include:
    • Budget Billing Plan: spreads annual energy costs more evenly over a 12 month period.

    • Third Party Notification Program: which permits customer to name someone who would receive a copy of any termination notices which may be sent due to non-payment of bills.


    • Due Date Extension Program: allows senior citizens to adjust their bill's due date to coincide with Social Security checks.
