Practice for families to gather and create their own plan in regards to the reunification of their family after a child/children were removed from the home. Families meet with relatives, friends, case management and providers to discuss strengths and concerns. The family is given private time to create a plan that will help protect and prevent future harm to their children.

The Human Relations Commission is a nine-member team of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Borough Council of Pottstown. The diverse team serves to improve the quality of human relations within the Borough of Pottstown.

Mission:
Its mission is to promote mutual understanding, respect and cooperation among all racial, cultural, religious, ethnic and other groups within the Borough of Pottstown.
The Commission monitors the status of human relations within the Borough.
It holds multi-cultural educational events.
It provides mediation and referral services to Borough residents.

Mediation is an opportunity for people to openly discuss conflict and determine whether reconciliation is possible. The parties may speak in a confidential setting directly to each other and be heard. Most of the commissioners are trained mediators.

Referral Services
At times, the Commission will refer individuals to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commissions for consideration of a formal hearing.

Provides information on registration and licensing of child care providers and also handles complaints about child care providers and additional technical assistance.

Registering of state certified child care homes for 4, 5 or 6 children not related to caregiver

Family Health Programs, workshops, and training on family planning, reproductive health, human sexuality, parenting, and related topics for parents, teens, families, schools, churches, and community groups

A group of state agencies working to prevent and respond to civil tension and violence arising from conflicts between ethnic or cultural groups and public expressions of bias or hate. PHRC Tracks reported bias-related incidents around PA to inform the PA Interagency Task Force.
