Enola - Money in Your Pocket VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program
Uses volunteers certified by the Internal Revenue Service to offer free tax preparation services for basic returns (forms 1040EZ, 1040 or 1040A). Taxpayers will be informed of special credits and/or deductions for which they are eligible. The program offers free federal, state, and local preparation at appointment sites, walk-in sites, and virtual prep.

Eligibility: Low- to moderate-income individuals and families. Families (2 or more people) who made $64,000 or less and individuals who made $45,000 or less.

Intake Procedure: Appointment sites: Call 2-1-1 to schedule.

Walk-in sites: No appointment needed - sites are first-come, first served.

Remote preparation: https://www.getyourrefund.org/uwcrpa, then answer the questions and upload photos of your tax information and forms. This can be done by scanning them or taking a photo with smart phone. Set up a time for a telephone interview with a certified volunteer tax preparer to review forms. A local volunteer preparer will complete state and local returns. Once that step is complete, there will be a second phone call to review the results before the forms are sent electronically to sign. United Way will electronically file the federal and state returns.

Intake Requirements: Bring to appointment:
- If married-both people will need to attend the appointments
- Must have Social security card plus dependent's social security cards. Go to SSA.gov to obtain card or statement.
- Photo ID for yourself (and spouse if applicable)
- All wage and earning statements W2, 1099,etc
- Unemployment and social security forms
- Last year's tax return
- PA property tax/rent rebate info (if applicable)
- Form 1095-A for health insurance
- Student loan interest statements, college tuition statements
- Mortgage interest statements/paid property tax receipts
- Child care expenses
- Proof of bank account routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit of tax refund
