Breathing Room Foundation Family Support Program
The Breathing Room Foundation supports family's needs while in active treatment for a cancer diagnosis. The support given includes; a small financial award that can be used to pay a bill or a gift card for gas, groceries or other necessities and we also offer support for children's programs if there are children under the age of 18 in the home. A nomination needs to be completed by the patient's oncology social worker or a healthcare professional involved with their cancer care.

Provide direct services and referrals for those who are blind or vision impaired. Direct services may include but are not limited to identifying techniques and tools for activities of daily living which promote independence and self-esteem.

We have monthly virtual support group and on-site vision support services trainings and informal fun group meetings. We loan vision-related assistive technology. Rep for Library of Congress' Talking Book program.

Eye exams and eyeglasses for those who cannot afford them through referrals or funding.

Employment for individuals who are legally blind.

Vehicles are not lift-equipped, but drivers can help load the car or transport mobility equipment if portable.

A shuttle service similar to other ride-share services where customers can use a smartphone app (Microtransit) to request a ride to and from anywhere they wish to travel within the service boundaries.

Following a ride request, the app will provide an estimated pick-up time, track rides in real-time, and provide an alert upon arrival. Also offers a convenient option to connect with fixed route service.
