Free legal help to those who have had their Constitutional rights violated

The Access to Justice program provides free legal services to Chester County residents when their income is too high to qualify for Legal Aid, their case cannot be handled by Legal Aid, or their case presents a conflict for Legal Aid. Individuals must financially qualify for services but guidelines are higher than the requirements for Legal Aid. If you qualify, your case will be handled free of charge.

Assists veterans charged with non-violent offenses adjudicated through the Allegheny County Veterans Court program. The students prepare and present cases for disposition in the Court of Common Pleas and stay in touch with veterans to ensure they are following court-ordered substance abuse or mental health treatment plans offered as alternatives to incarceration. The program is one of the first criminal law veterans clinics in the country.

Offers a clinic that engages in civil rights advocacy for expungement and state pardons. Students participate in weekly training sessions addressing the applicable substantive and procedural law. Beyond the classroom, students are trained in case intake and interviewing, client counseling, fact investigation, case analysis, research, and drafting of petitions and documents.
