Family Support Services
As of 03/20/2020 and until further notice, due to COVID-19, American Red Cross offices are closed. Open for Blood drives only (if site is an applicable location). All staff and volunteers are working from home.

Message from American Red Cross:
Disaster Services:
- Disaster Services Our response to emergencies in the community will continue. We are operating by practicing social distancing. All volunteers have been supplied with PPE (personal protective equipment). Casework is being conducted remotely by our team of volunteers. We are working on a plan to be able to respond to emergencies remotely.

Service to Armed Forces:
- Operating remotely for emergency messaging and casework.

VA Hospital volunteer activities suspended, per VA hospital guidance.

Blood Services: As blood drives are cancelled due to coronavirus concerns, the American Red Cross strongly urges healthy individuals to give blood to help patients in need. Through March 19, about 3,300 PA drives have been cancelled resulting in 9,300 fewer blood donations in PA
- We understand why people may be hesitant to come out for a blood drive, but want to reassure the public that we are taking additional precautions to ensure the safety of our donors and staff:
- We are checking the temperature of staff and donors before entering a drive to make sure they are healthy.
- We have hand sanitizer for use before entering the drive, as well as throughout the donation process.
- We are spacing beds, where possible, to follow social distancing practices between blood donors
